International Exchange | Argentine Dance Queen Mora Godoy teaches on-site the master’s students in Beijing Dance Academy

At the beginning of 2019, the Argentine Tango queen Mora Godoy entered the Beijing Dance Academy and gave lecture to the national standard dance master’s students of grade 2017. This guest lecture is an unforgettable experience in the 2018-2019 China Tour of Mora Godoy. By tweeting on January 3 (Beijing time) about the Mora Dance Company tour and the master’s lecture in Beijing Dance Academy, Argentine Embassy in China highly praised Mora's contribution to the spread of Argentine culture.

Since 2009, as one of the most prestigious Argentine cultural ambassadors, Mora Godoy has insisted on annual performance in China to present a unique Argentine Tango for the Chinese audience. She has created, directed, arranged and starred Tango dance dramas such as "Enthusiastic Tango" and " Love ", which captured the hearts of tens of thousands of viewers in China.

Founded in 1954, Beijing Dance Academy has a glorious history of 65 years. It is the only the highest seat of learning in China specializing in dance professional education and also the world's largest and professionally well-established dance-recognized college. The society praised it as the "cradle of dancers" for the Chinese nation. During the 90-minute lecture period on January 2, Mora instructed the master students to learn about the rotating skills, special footwork and partner matching skills. Their meticulous teaching attitude gained the respect and gratitude of the students. They also expressed the desire of opening a Tango foreign teacher course as soon as possible.

After the course, Mora introduced to the students: there are two categories of Tango, social and performance. The last one requires more difficult actions, higher speed of completion, and better physical condition. Although covering the five basic performance Tango steps, the lecture is only the tip of the iceberg of the Tango technical points. We hope that all the students will practice hard, in addition, the dance activities between China and Argentina will be carried out more and promote the cultural exchanges between the two countries. Zou Yang, deputy director of the International Standard Dance Department of the Beijing Dance Academy, said that Mora is not easy to come from afar, he wished that the students would seize the opportunity to learn from Mora and strive to improve their accomplishments in dance.
