The " Vienna Boys' Choir " with a history of more than 500 years is a treasure of Austrian performing arts as well as the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Its predecessor is the Austrian Royal Choir, and in 1498, at the behest of Emperor Maximilian I of Austria, the bishop Jurij Slatkonja reorganized the Royal Choir, who became the director of the ensemble. Before 1918, the choir only sang for the court assembly, religious festivals and official venues. Since 1498, the choir continued to sing for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna National Theatre Chorus Groupe, together with the Sunday mass at the Vienna Royal Cathedral. The tradition of court performance is still maintained. Mozart, Haydn and Schubert were all members of the choir in the early years.
